First time buyers Stamp Duty exemption ending 24th March 2012

The end of the stamp duty holiday for first-time buyers is fast approaching.

Purchasers must complete by the 24th March 2012 to avoid paying stamp duty on their first home.

As of March 25, all buyers will face a one per cent tax on house purchases between £125,000 and £250,000, and a three per cent tax on purchases over £250,000.
